Watch out for scammers out there! It’s just maddening!! That last thing you need is spammers and scammers contacting you while your dog is missing! Well, it’s unfortunate that a blog post has to be dedicated to losers that pretend to have your dog or report that they know who does. The winner goes to the fool that texts people to say they want to be reimbursed for food they purchased for your dog. Sadly, runner up go to the scammers that say they have your dog and they want you to send them a code. They claim to have your dog and say they will send you a code and that you have to confirm it to get your dog back. Now, the kicker here is there can be some weird texts from people that might be legitimate. For instance, there are just slimy people in the world that will ask for a reward before they will give you your dog. That might just be for real, so do not discount messages asking for rewards right away. The best way to confirm if someone in fact has your dog is ask for a picture. Be mindful that they might send you a pic that you yourself posted on Facebook or another social media platform. So, make sure what they sent you is new and current.
One of the latest scams is they will tell an owner that they took the dog to the vet and bought the dog a bed, food, and other supplies and that owners owe them money for the materials before they can get their dog back. They want the money sent through Venmo or cash app first. The worst part is, they don’t even have the dog. They’re just trying to get the cash. Then when you think that it can’t get anymore creepy there are people selling merchandise with our name and logo on them. This is NOT us so please do not purchase! If we are seeing merchandise it will be posted by us. If it is posted by anyone but us, it’s not us. This next one is just a bit weird even with all the weirdness we see. Satellite searches for lost pets. It’s simply a bunch for BS. We felt this was a very important topic that will help desperate dog owners when they might not be thinking clearly. As always, keep those babies safe but if your baby gets lost we are here to help!!
