We at CT Dog Gone Recovery Volunteers (DGR) embrace the spirit of volunteerism and the concept of giving back to the community.
**Volunteer opportunities for students who need to complete community service hours. For more information on community service projects contact Carol Ferrucci at cferrucci@aol.com.
Mid 2016 we were approached by a student needing to do community service for his senior year. Our DGR trainer Carol Ferrucci spoke to the student and out of that discussion a couple of ideas emerged. For Ben’s first project he is made us 3 large wooden lost dog signs. They came out fantastic. What a great and unique way to get people’s attention about a lost dog! We would love to continue this project with other volunteers who are interested Your dog design is only limited by your vision and imagination.
Here is Ben next to one of the three dog signs he created for DGR. To give you an idea of the size of this sign, Ben is almost 6′ tall.
Ben is required to do a second project and has an interest in computers. For his second project, he is designing an electronic door closer for our traps! We are very excited to add this piece of equipment to our capturing lost dog arsenal.
